Kent Grand Plus RO + UV/UF+TDS Filtration Process
The Kent Grand Plus filters water with a seven-stage process:-Kent Grand Plus RO + UV/UF+TDS is a water purifier that uses multiple technologies to provide clean and safe drinking water. The filtration process involves several stages to remove various impurities and ensure the water is safe for consumption. Here’s an overview of the filtration process for the Kent Grand Plus RO + UV/UF+TDS water purifier:
Sediment Filter (Stage 1).
In the first step of purification, input water is permitted to flow through the sediment filter. This filtering method efficiently removes all pollutants, dirt, particle matter, and suspended solids.
Activated Carbon Filter (Stage 2).
The activated carbon filter receives the water that has been filtered through the sediment filter. This stage is critical for removing chlorine, organic contaminants, foul odours, and a terrible taste from the water. Carbon is extremely effective at blocking all undesired pollutants, resulting in more purer water at the end of the procedure.
RO Filtration (Stage 3).
A semi-permeable membrane is utilised in this stage of purification since it is the most important. All dissolved organic salts and other hazardous pollutants are removed by RO filtering. The reverse osmosis filtration process necessitates the application of a pressure to the water that is close to 30-40 psi. Water molecules flow through the membrane while suspended contaminants are left behind. RO filtering eliminates heavy elements including lead, pesticides, nitrates, and sulphates in addition to dissolved salts.
Ultrafiltration (Stage 4).
The water from the previous step is allowed to pass through ultra-filtration in this fourth stage of purification. The UF membrane works as a formidable line of defence, trapping and removing macromolecules. Impurities that are much smaller and invisible can sometimes be found in the water. Due to the UF membrane’s exceptionally small hole size of 0.01 micron, even these pollutants are filtered out. This method use thin fibre threads to remove excess hardness from the water.
TDS Controller (Stage 5).
A TDS controller is used in this stage of filtration to assist manage total dissolved solids in the water coming out of the Kent RO membrane. Along with lowering the hardness of the water, the RO process also eliminates important natural minerals. As a result, the TDS controller ensures that these minerals stay in the water. The TDS controller’s output water is safer, healthier, clean, and mineral-enriched.
Ultraviolet Filtration (Stage 6).
UV technology is used in the following step of filtration to effectively eliminate bacteria, viruses, and disease-causing organisms. The UV filtering system employs an 11-watt UV lamp that emits ultraviolet light into the water. It kills all microorganisms in the water, making it safe and germ-free.
Post-Carbon Filter (Stage 7).
It’s used to boost the flavour of the water while also improving the taste.
The Kent Grand Plus RO + UV/UF+TDS water purifier combines these filtration technologies to provide safe, clean, and great-tasting water. Regular maintenance and replacement of filters and membranes are essential to ensure the continued effectiveness of the purification process and the longevity of the system. It’s also recommended to periodically check the TDS levels in the purified water to ensure that the system is functioning correctly.
Zero Water Wastage
The most significant disadvantage of using a RO water filter is the significant amount of water wasted. This is why the National Green Tribunal intends to prohibit the use of RO water purifiers in regions where the TDS level of the water is less than 500 ppm.
Kent has developed ‘Zero Water Wastage’ technology in response to the severity of the problem. This ensures that during the purifying process, no water is wasted.
Although it may appear that achieving 0% water waste with RO purifiers is a daunting endeavour, Kent has discovered a simple solution to this problem. This is accomplished by using an internal water booster pump to return the reject water to the above tank. Instead of being flushed down the drain, the rejected water is diluted with new water in an above tank and reused as regular tap water for family use.
UV Disinfection in a Tank.
Do you know that the cleansed water in the storage tank might become contaminated by microbes? Yes, this is what occurs when cleansed water is left unused for an extended period of time.
With an In-tank UV Disinfection function, Kent Grand+ overcomes this typical issue. A UV LED light in the storage tank of the purifier maintains purified water pure and safe for longer periods of time.
High-capacity storage and purification.
KENT Grand+ has a big 9-litre storage tank. The purifying capacity is likewise extremely high, reaching up to 20 litres per hour. A large storage tank can hold more water in case of an emergency, and a high purification capacity can swiftly purify more water.
Kent Grand Plus’s appealing design and clear cover look wonderful in any room of the house. Its ease of use makes it ideal for use in any kitchen, restaurant, or hostel. Inside the upper cabinet, you can see all of the components working, and the water level indicator on the storage tank lets you know how much water is inside.
TDS control valve performs a critical role, resulting in a 90 percent reduction in TDS levels. None of the other water purifiers have this functionality. This process also ensures that the cleansed water retains its native minerals. Controlling TDS ensures cleaner, better-tasting water.
Design with No Leaks.
Kent makes use of cutting-edge design technology to ensure that it is leak-proof, and its push-fit components prevent water leakage and waste. Rubber O rings are integrated into these fittings to provide further leak prevention. It’s made of ABS plastic, which is safe, long-lasting, and dependable.
Water Recovery Rates are High.
Only 20% of water is recovered as filtered water using traditional RO technology, which wastes roughly 80% of the water. For every 2 litres of filtered water, 10 litres of input water was required. Save Water Technology is used by KENT Grand Plus, which recovers over 50% of the water as filtered water.
